What course are you on?
by Separation of Powers inreading julia's comment about how she and her husband have become the epitome of evil (lol) moved me to post.
i have several family members and close friends that have faded or simply walked away.
each of them has chosen a different course.

DC "Jehovah's Witnesses have been banned"
by Separation of Powers inseveral weeks ago, i had the opportunity to attend one of the dc.
the final drama was quite interesting as it depicted a "ban" on the jehovah's witness religion without an explanation as to why?
i'm sure many in the audience pondered on what they had learned from their previous studies i.e that babylon the great would fall and then that gog of magog would eventually turn his attention to the organization.

Present Truth from 2000 A.D. onward ?
by Separation of Powers indo not have access to the watchtower library, so i decided to research directly from the society's website.
noticed that volumes are only good dating back to the year 2000. with all that has ever been written, why provide only from 2000 onward?
sure, there are references made to items published before then, but they are not accessible.

WW I, the Gentile Times, and the Last days...the not so exact science of chronology
by Separation of Powers inessentially, the jw position regarding the end of the gentile times and the significance of 1914 revolve around a principal element, namely, that the "great war" (ww1) was an indication of the anger of the dragon, i.e satan, after being cast out of heaven per revelation 12:7-9 and the start of the sign of the last days.
this has always been a sticky point for the organization....why?.
because, based on their chronology, the gentile times ended in october 3/4 of 1914 with the last days commencing from that point on.

It matters not what you believe...or does it?
by Separation of Powers ini had a discussion with a friend regarding ever changing "truth.
" he commented on a verse in the new song book that states that one needs to keep up with "present truth.
" this bothered him immensely.

We just love this new idea
by Separation of Powers init is probable that if the domestics include the great crowd (other sheep) and the belief is that no fds can be proven to have existed from the death of the last apostle until the reestablished fds in 1918, that most believers from the death of the last apostle or the "dawn" of the 2nd century as the article puts it, will soon be considered other sheep.
the wheat and the weeds articles makes it a point to use a particular expression.
it uses "overgrown" where the parable uses oversown.

why do I write?
by Separation of Powers ini must admit, i feel rather like winston smith from orwell's 1984. i sit here in front of the image of a blank piece of paper on my computer screen.
i am alone in my study, alone, but like winston, i am hesitant to write on this blank piece of paper, fearful that i am under the watchful eye of the telescreen.
it is a form of paranoia, i guess, a paranoia that is synonymous with being in the organization; an organization that worries more about perception than substance.
